So where are we? Situated just 3 miles from Penrith in Cumbria we look over farmland to the Pennines across the Eden Valley. It’s a lovely place to be but rather exposed to the elements, we know what damage the wind can do here, sometimes we’ve even chased the washing over the field after the wind blew it off the line!  Winter was tough here this year, we had 4 solid weeks of snow and ice and there were days when we couldn’t go out at all. We’re waiting to see if this has had any lasting effect on the garden, although everything is already way behind for Spring.

So now we just have to hope that Spring arrives soon and that the daffodils will burst out into that lovely cheerful yellow that just makes the world seem a nice place again.
